San Diego Microclimates: Gardening 101 🌡️🌱

☀️ Learn how to match plants to a moving sun, coastal fog, shade pockets, and inland heat.

This class helps gardeners choose plants based on the exact conditions in their yard instead of guessing and hoping for the best.

Free to attend, no RSVP required.

🚜 Since 1972, we've focused on simple growing methods, time-tested advice, and locally-grown plants.

☀️ We'd love to invite you down to our open-air canyon classroom for casual learning, informed by over 50 years of experience.

🧴 During warmer months, hats, sunscreen, water recommended.

🦆 Free to attend, no RSVP required.

🕰️ Class times can change or shift, we ask for consideration as we navigate being a small business and juggling events and space.

🚙 Parking Notice for Class Participants If you're attending a free class and are able to walk a short distance, please consider parking on Altadena Ave and walking over. This keeps our lot available for customers shopping at our three businesses who may be on tight schedules.

When classes fill up, a full parking lot can prevent other shoppers from visiting our stores. By parking on the street, you help ensure everyone can access our businesses.

Planning to shop? No worries! You can easily swing back through our "Loading Zone" after class for convenient drive-up loading of bulky purchases—no parking required.
