Behind-the-Scenes Tours
Join us for a free, one-hour walking tour through our grounds. You’ll get an inside look at our operations, learn about our gardens, and enjoy the unique history of our nursery. These tours run usually six times a year.
See upcoming dates listed on our Events Page.
Young Entrepreneurs
Looking ahead, we’re excited to host a Young Entrepreneurs Program. This event will give kids a behind-the-scenes look at how we got started and highlight local young makers and their projects.
Stay tuned to our newsletter for updates about this experience.
Join Our Contests
Pumpkin Growing Contest (for Ages 3-16)
Groups can take part in our annual Pumpkin Growing Contest! Each June and July we provide free seeds and classes to help everyone get started. Groups can plant individually or work together on a single pumpkin entry. The growing season wraps up in October with a community contest and weigh-in celebration.
Zucchini Contest (For Ages 17+)
Our Zucchini Contest is a fun option for older groups and adult gardeners. Participants receive free zucchini seeds, each June and July, with the challenge of growing the biggest and best squash of the season. The contest culminates in a weigh-in day filled with prizes and bragging rights.
While we’re often asked, our ability to make personalized tours or group outings is very limited.
Because we’re part working nursery and growing grounds, our team has quite the workload, and we do our best to stay available to customers and our team.
We do hope that the above options provide you with some great ways to connect, enjoy and steep in our pocket nursery in San Diego, and always encourage self-guided exploration.
If you’d like to learn more about our history, prior to your visit, we have a short intro video, a longer tour by Epic Gardens.
